Testimony of Sir. Emeka's Lifting Hands. READ

“It has not been easy overcoming the challenges that come with being disabled. Thank God for organizations like SEOF that has come to our aid”

For most disabled persons overcoming their disability, it comes with a lot of challenges. According to Emmanuel Godwin, a power lifter billed to participate at the upcoming IWAS Games, these challenges can be overcome by having the mind-set that there is indeed ability in disability.

Thanks to the SEOF!

Sir. Emeka Offor, Featured In British Fellowship Magzine

International action on Polio was top of the agenda recently, when representatives of The British Polio Fellowship attended a high level breakfast networking meeting with senior Polio delegates, at Rotary’s International Offices in London on the 30th May. Our ambassador Anne Wafula-Strike helped to ensure that the late effects of Polio and the issue of PPS were very much on the menu, with an impassioned speech to delegates, which prompted an unexpected and emotional response from many.

The event was hosted by Sir Emeka Offor, Nigerian businessman, philanthropist and Rotary Ambassador to Nigeria. Sir Emeka is Nigeria’s first ever Polio Ambassador. In addition to a significant delegation from The British Polio Fellowship, other guests included representatives from Rotary International, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Polio Children charity and all the leading lights in the fight against Polio

.Judith Diment, Chair of Rotary International Polio Advocacy Task Force gave an overview of the End Game Strategy, 2013-18 and the challenges facing the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in the remaining three endemic countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria.

Judith reminded guests of the success in eradicating Polio in India enabling the SE Asia region to be certified Polio free in March. This means 80 per cent of the world is now Polio free. Judith also noted the recent success in Nigeria, as there have been only three cases of Polio in 2014 and the commitment of the international community expressed at the World Health Assembly in Geneva.

Sir Emeka delivered a measured, yet powerful speech and while not shying away from the very real problems faced by countries like Nigeria, demonstrated that hope for Polio eradication remains. Emeka also brought up the issue of supporting people Post Polio, which Anne and the delegation from The British Polio Fellowship were able to bring him and other attendees up to speed on. Some were not fully aware of the PPS legacy that Polio leaves behind and Anne was able to remind delegates that as in Britain, the fight against Polio will not end with the eradication, but rather a whole new challenge will be faced tackling the late effects of Polio and PPS in countries like Nigeria in years to come.

IWAS Junior Games 2014 - Sir Emeka Offor charges on The Nigerian Paralympic Team.

Celebrating it's 10 years annivassary, the IWAS is taking the events back to Stoke Mandeville, UK, it's birthplace and the paralympic movement. Scheduled to hold from 2nd to 8th August, 2014.

While the world prepares for the big game, the Nigerian side are basking in the hope of a great outing, owing to the fact that a good Nigerian son has has set a stepping stone. Doing what he does best, and especially in matters regarding polio, Sir. Emeka Offor has made a financial donation to the Nigeria Paralympic committee to ensure they have great game come August, 2014. Sir. E, as he is called, also gave charged the athletes to be good ambassadors of the nation, by being in there best form during the games and return with medals. He also stated clearly that by supporting the team, he is sending a message that deformity is not disability, therefore all should rise to their dreams and aspirations irrespective of any deformity.

We wish the Nigerian team a successful outing at the IWAS 2014. God bless Sir Offor.

Why Sir Emeka Offor Is Keen on Polio Eradication- Just a Story. READ

On the 27th November 1999, a house wife in a remote village of Jigawa state, Mrs. Amina Abubakar called on her three year old son, Umar to come down from their old flaccid foam to eat masa, a local stable food. Her son had been down with fever and there was no money for hospital treatment but he appeared to be getting better. The little boy tried to get himself out of the bed but could not and as he continued to try, he found out he had lost the ability to do so and he began to cry for his mother’s help. His mother was both angry and concerned that he could not do what he used to do without any stress thinking he wanted to be doted on. As she carried her little poor son out of the bed and dropped him on the floor, his limb went numb and it was polio. She was alarmed and shouted for help because she didn’t know what to call whatever that had befallen her son as she had neither heard of polio nor its vaccine.

Umar will be eighteen this year and had since graduated from crying for mother’s help to that of the society where he crawls through the streets begging for alms. His destiny, talent, life’s dream and whatever contribution he would have made to the development of the society are all crippled by polio which first crippled and terribly twisted his two legs. The distasteful effect of polio is not only physical but also robs one of the stability of his emotion, mind and talent. This is one in thousands of dreams, talents, ambitions and contributions polio have robbed the world of and its undesired effect can never be overestimated.

This is one of the many heart-rending stories that spurred the philanthropist in a duel with polio in Africa. Long live Sir Emeka Offor, long live SEOF, long live Nigeria, long live Africa.

Jimmy Carter And Sir. Emeka Offor; Hands Together in Fight Against River Blindness

On March 3rd 2014, The Jimmy Carter Center in Atlanta Georgia was noticeably alive as the 18th River Blindness [Elimination] Program Review kicked off in full swing.
The event, which holds annually, was graced by world leading epidemiologists and entomologists, public health advocates and country Ministry of Health coordinators, particularly from countries with Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) endemicity and those with partner relationship with The Carter Foundation. Others in attendance were prominent donors or representatives associated with the Carter Center in their homogenous and broad pursuit of peace, disease eradication and human capacity training.
Dr. Frank Richards Jr. Director, Carter Center RB, LF, SCH, ML Programs, opened up the conference by looking at River Blindness eradication efforts, challenges and recorded successes since the 2013 Review session. In his declaration, he reminded the panel of the purpose of the review, which according to him are; to examine The Carter Center assisted River Blindness (RB), Lymphatic Filariasis (LF), Schistosomiasis (SCH) programs together with represented partners from country Ministry of Health, assess targets reached during the previous year, review problems encountered in fulfilling set objectives and set new goals or objectives for the 2014 year.
He further urged the panel to evaluate and appreciate innovative efforts or concepts of integration otherwise called Integrated Vector Management (IVM). World Health Organization in 2011 issued a statement in support of IVM citing improved cost effectiveness in vector control operations and strengthening the capacity of programs as well, as it pertains to LF/Malaria, LF and RB elimination in endemic regions of Africa and particularly, Nigeria. IVM had encouraged an estimated treatment target of about 20 million in 2013, a remarkable jump from previous years number. Although a little more than 15 million treatment target was met, it however was considered a success.

River Blindness or Onchocerciasis is a disease that affects the eye and skin, which is brought on by a nematode called Onchocerca Volvulus. It is one of the neglected tropical diseases (NTD) with endemicity in South Eastern Nigeria. It is parasitic in nature and it is caused by an infection resulting from several bites from a black fly often found in areas with fast flowing streams. According to WHO, 30 countries in Africa are considered endemic with an estimated population of 85 million. Almost half of those numbers live in Nigeria.
Common symptoms include itching of skin, rashes or papules often tightening of skin tissue akin to a lizard skin characteristic. The accompanying inflammatory response leads to glaucoma type effect that may lead to irreversible blindness if not treated on time. Treatment is effected by the administration of a drug called Ivermectin (Mectizan), a Merck Company product, once or twice a year for about 15 years. An antibiotic doxycycline has also been used to hasten treatment when properly indicated.
Embracing the shift from control to elimination, The Carter Center has adopted a “scale up” modality in the treatment of RB. To enable the foundation and its partners achieve this goal, twice-a-year and sometimes four-times-a-year treatment regimens have been encouraged, particularly in regions where transmission persists. Such an aggressive approach requires coordinated and collaborative efforts from each country`s Ministry of Health, The Carter Center and most certainly supportive funding from donor organizations.
It is here that Sir Emeka Offor, the Executive Vice Chairman of a multi-billion dollar oil and gas conglomerate, has risen to augment the ongoing global efforts towards the elimination and eradication of RB from Nigeria. Through his corporate responsibility arm, The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, he donated over $250,000 of his personal money to the Carter Center during the year 2013. At this year’s review at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Sir Emeka Offor through his foundation representative renewed his commitment to the fight against River Blindness and further pledged provision of supportive logistics to advance efforts made by The Carter Center. Till date, Sir Emeka Offor remains the largest independent African donor in the world towards the elimination and eradication of River Blindness in Nigeria, a statement verified from the Center’s spokesperson.
While speaking at the closing of the review session, the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation representative, Dr. Edwin Ndukwe, commended the team of doctors, epidemiologists and entomologists for their persistence in RB elimination project. In his words, he said; “I commend the Carter Center for bringing together these colorful and quite frankly brilliant ensemble of scientific icons that are committed to wiping out the scourge of River Blindness from our region”. He further referred to them as “Iconoclasts” stating that through their unique disciplines, they are “breaking new grounds, stretching scientific borders and redefining scientific research standards.” Dr. Ndukwe reaffirmed Sir Emeka Offor’s passion for the ongoing work against River Blindness.

Cleaning Africa: Sir Emeka Offor Foundation Vs Glaucoma

By Okemadu Cletus jr

Glaucoma, as said is responsible for over 90% of  blindness in this sector of the world, Africa. It is common especially among the aged. Glaucoma is believed to be as old as man. Which points to the truth that it has existed from the fall of man to this age.

What is Glaucoma?
Glaucoma is an abnormal condition peculiar to the eye. It is a medical condition which results from the subjection of the eyes to pressures. When the eye is exposed to internal pressures, due to infections, or external pressure, due to injury, the optical nerves may be damaged.

The optical nerve is a biological cord which transmits light signals as impulses via the sensory route, from the sensitive sensory cells of the Retina (Retina cells) to the CNS (Central Nervous System), where they are interpreted as images and adequate response triggered.
This damage to the optic nerve results to Glaucoma. Blindness in glaucoma is therefore, due to the inability of the brain and spine to receive any light signal from the retina to interprete as image. The retina at this point may have blind spots eclipsing. There are various type of glaucoma, but that is a topic for another day.

The sole aim of this piece, is to illuminate the dark mind of how a single philanthropic hand has raised a continent to her feet. Born in 2003, by "the man with a golden heart", Sir Emeka offor, the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, grew in Oraifite, its birth place, to spread its wing in flight across Africa and beyond.

Offor's foundation, realising the truth in "a candle losing nothing in lighting another" had in a short time, after her birth confronted glaucoma while looking it in the eye. Following the influx of the disease in 2008, especially in Africa, SEOF partnered with the notable world philanthropic foundation, the Carter center in fight against glaucoma.

The Carter center was founded in 1982 by former US president, Jimmy Carter and wife Rosalynn Carter to advance human rights and alleviate suffering, a thought Sir. Offor 'louds'.

The SEOF's gross donation of over $250,000 in endowing a professorship of glaucoma in the ophthalmology department, University of Mainz, Germany, has assisted in research programs of early detection and treatment of glucoma as well as public sensitization on the malaise.

So far, the SEOF has dealt the disease a fatal blow following its tireless effort in building a glaucoma-free continent. Whoever said "the greatest exercise for the heart, is reaching down and lifting up somebody", said in so many words: "Sir Emeka Offor Foundation".

Sir Emeka Offor Acquires PHCN, Enugu Distribution Zone. [A Congratulatory Message]

"Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed”    --- Paulo Coelho

When Paulo Coelho made this motivating statement, it seems he had Sir Emeka Offor in mind. The success story of the Chairman of Chrome Group,Sir Emeka Offor is the story of hardwork, determination, doggedness and above all God’s favour. Born without a silver spoon, he did not allow his poor background to weigh him down and stop him from getting to the pinnacle of his talents as he now owns one of the multi-billion Naira conglomerate in Nigeria, the Chrome Group. As my friend, Uzo Onwuchekwa, will always say; “one who comes from a poor background, should not keep his/her back on the ground.”

This piece is to congratulate a worthy investor and entrepreneur Sir Emeka Offor, who recently acquired the defunct Power Holding Company of  Nigeria (PHCN), Enugu Distribution Zone and whose giant strides has touched all spheres of human endeavors. Just like many of the world seasoned entrepreneurs, you are a man with the “Midas touch”, who plays in the same league with the likes of Dangote, Adenuga, of this world.

When the present administration led by President Goodluck Jonathan promised to reform and revive the energy sector, so as to be a catalyst for the Industrial Revolution, we have been clamoring  for. All welcomed it, praying that the process will usher in a world class company that will raise the bar in the industry and provide an international standard services in that sector. Never, did we know that one of us, Sir Emeka Offor, has been working assiduously to cater for the yearnings of  his people. When one of his companies, Interstate Electrics Limited,  in partnership with other International Companies bid for the now defunct PHCN, Enugu Distribution Zone. It is his love for his people that made him to invest and provide world class services and expertise to them. He could have done such in the other regions of the country, but in his usual humble self, he chose his people above others.

The event of 1st November, 2013, showed clearly that Interstate Electrics won the bidding process and was rightly handed over what was left of the ailing PHCN to revive. It is on record that your business skills and commitment made your company, Interstate Electrics came out top among the numerous companies that took part in the bidding. A glance at the profile of  Interstate Electrics, one will notice that you have assembled some of the best in the world to come and contribute in the turning around of  the energy sector in the South- Eastern part of the country and thereby awaken the sleeping industries in the region especially in Nnewi and Aba, in Anambra and Abia States, respectively.

Interstate Electrics Limited is a consortium incorporated as a vehicle for the purpose of acquiring and operating Electricity Distribution Companies in Nigeria. Interstate Electrics Limited consortium comprises: Chrome Consortium Energy Nigeria Limited, Powerhouse International Limited, and Metropolitan Electricity Authority, which parades a competent team of electricity infrastructural engineers, owners/operators of electricity power distribution companies, upstream and downstream oil operators and empowerment partners, with a collective global experience of over 80 years, and the requisite financial resources and technical competence required to reactivate, modernize and operationalise the Enugu Distribution Company (DISCO).
The strength of Interstate Electrics Limited derives from its local knowledge of the operating environment, and global experience of its key technical partner (Metropolitan Electricity Authority of Thailand). Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) for instance, currently owns and operates distribution networks around the world, especially in Thailand where it has been generating and distributing electricity for the past 55 years. MEA currently distributes over12,000 MW of electricity in Thailand.

I must congratulate this great son, for his landmark achievement, "maka na-eto dike na nke omelu, omekwa ozo".

SIR EMEKA OFFOR'S EXAMPLE: FEEDING THE WIDOWS

Widows Co-operative, Flanked by Sir Emeka Offor and Friends of the foundation

“At the end of life, we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless and you took me in” -- Mother Teresa

Witnessing what happened in the remote village of Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, where trailers filled with bags of rice were seen offloading their contents. I asked one pertinent question, who is this importer that has gotten a warehouse in Oraifite, but the excited villagers were on hand to correct me. That it was no importer, but no other person than their illustrious son, Sir Emeka Offor, in whom they are well pleased, that the bags of rice were meant to be distributed to the widows of the town and other neighbouring towns organized under the auspices of Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF) Widows’ Cooperative. A further question about the Widow’s Co-operative wing of SEOF showed that it has over two thousand widows that it empowers to make out a living. The bags of rice and other items, I was meant to know were given to the widows by Sir Emeka Offor, in his usual magnanimous self, to celebrate the new yam festival for the year. Who said God does not answer prayers? God has surely answered the prayers of these widows by providing for them, not only their daily bread but also, the founder of the SEOF, Sir Emeka Offor, who always make sure that the widows’ well do not run dry.

Just imagine how many lives Sir Emeka Offor has touched by this generous and philanthropic gesture of feeding the widows. And what the prayers of these widows will be doing in the life of Sir Emeka Offor and his business endeavours, as God, himself, promise that He will be their husband and answer them whenever they called to him. (Isaiah 54:4-5) For you, Sir Emeka Offor, may the Almighty God continue to shower you with His blessings, your coast will be enlarged and the eyes of the wicked ones will never see you. I conclude by completing the statement of Mother Teresa in the beginning of this piece as recorded in the Holy Bible Matthew 25:40 “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethrens, you did it to me”

THE SIR EMEKA OFFOR'S STORY

Emeka Offor is a man who rarely talks; rather he prefers his
philanthropy and hard work to speak for him.
This son of a Policeman who was born in Kafanchan braved the odds to
become the successful businessman that he is today. He has dealt
poverty a great blow and has tried his best to ensure that the pangs
of poverty would not hinder the dreamof the average Nigerian child
today. Recently he gave a whooping 1 million dollars in addition to
the initial 250 thousand dollars he donated to the Rotary Foundation
polio plus programme, for the eradication of polio in Nigeria. Nigeria
is the only country in Africa where the incidence of Polio is still
being recorded. Would it not be a good enough news for us Nigerians if
zero cases of Polio is recorded by the end of 2014 in Nigeria, as is
being projected, courtesy of our ownSir Emeka Offor? Why would Bonny
Okonkwo and a group of persons under the "Mbala Obodo" forum castigate
and viliify him for this kind gesture to humanity?
The speakers in the acclaimed "Mbala Mbodo" forum alleged that there
is no clean drinking water, electricity, or hospitals in Oraifite, but
I must say here that this claim is totally fallacious. Sir Emeka
Offor has a charitable foundation, The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation
(SEOF- http://www.sireofforfoundation.org) that has touched the lives
of Oraifite indigenes and indeed the whole Nigeria at large.
His numerous philanthropic gestureshave gone unnoticed because he is
not a trumpeter. He signed a 7million-dollar contract with Books for
Africa (BFA) for the delivery of 32, 40 ft HQ containers of primary,
secondary and University texts from November 1 2011- November 1 2014.
It is expected that 640,00 books , assorted computers and school
supplies would be shipped under this agreement. Sir Emeka Offor has
lived up to this promise as he ensures that these books are
distributed annually to all these institutions of learning. I was
presentat last year's book sharing exercise, it was possible for one
to confuse the venue for a motor park as hundreds of buses from
various institutions across the federation were parked waiting to
receive their share of books.

The high point of the occasion was when he gave out a brand new 2012
Toyota Corolla car valued at 4.2 million naira and an automatic
employment to Miss Ebere Anaegbuonu a beneficiary of his scholarship
scheme, in fulfillment of the vow he made to provide a brand new car
and automatic employment in his chain of companies to any beneficiary
of his scholarship scheme who graduates with a first class from any
discipline. Presently over 120 students are enjoying Sir Emeka Offor's
scholarship at various educational levels.

In December 2012, his foundation sponsored a delegation of about 20
widows from Oraifite to India on a three week study visit to the
Talent research foundation. This group of women learnt a lot about
practices and activities that enhanced the economic, social and
political lives of the rural Indian populace. Areas of interest
included skill acquisition centers, small holder farms, orphanages,
rehabilitation centres and designated rural health centers. The SEOF
Widows Cooperative whichas of date caters for over 2000 widows doles
out on a yearly basis, bags of rice and other food items to these
women.
He also gave out 7 million naira through his charitable foundation to
one Miss Stella Eze from Nsukka, Enugu State for her kidney
transplant. She is presently in India for the surgery.

It is on record that Sir Emeka Offor's company, Kaztec Engineering
Limited rescued 2 of the survivors of the Calabar boat mishap that
happened earlier this year. He also took it upon himself to visit them
at the Bakor Medical Centre, Calabar where they were hospitalized,
with food items as well as cash donations. He even offered to employ
them in one of his companies.

Just a few months ago, Sir Emeka through his foundation donated$4,000
USD to save Baby Kehinde's life. Kehinde Olaniyi was born two months
ago in a very bad shape, with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC)
at the Garki GeneralHospital, as against his twin Taiye who is in
perfect condition. He is also suffering from a case of undescended
testicles, inguinal and lumbar hernia, plus Scoliosis, a medical
condition in which a person's spine is curved from side to side. The
donation was to assist in a corrective surgery abroad.

The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation in her efforts to help eradicate some
ravaging diseases in Nigeria recently donated $250,000 to the Carter
Center, in support of its River Blindness Control Programme in the
South East states of Nigeria. It will also be recalled that the SEOF
has donated so far the sum of €250,000 to endow a professorship of
glaucoma in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of
Mainz, Germany. This is to assist research on the early detection and
treatment of glaucoma.

In all fairness, how does these charitable gestures culminate in
terrorizing the people of Oraifite?

Sir Emeka Offor understands that Charity begins at home, so when he
decided to build a radio station in Nigeria, he did not consider Abuja
or Lagos or Port-Harcourt, he decided to bring it back home to provide
entertainment, information and above all employment for his dear
people of Oraifite. Blaze 91.5 FM every 30th and 31st of December
hosts the Blaze blast concert where most "A " list artistes in the
NigerianEntertainment industry are brought in to thrill the audience
who do not have to pay a dime to have a swell time. The show which is
open to all and sundry is a platform which brings together south-east
youths and other youths across the country. If you doubt the veracity
of this claim, you may consider spending this years Xmas season in
Oraifite to see things for yourself.

He more or less single-handedly built the Anglican church that serves
the community and this edifice is a magnificent structure to behold.
Emeka Offor has brought a lot of development to the Oraifite community
which is so visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. For
instance, he built the first access road from Oraifite to Nnewi; He is
the brain behind the constant powersource in Oraifite. He single
handedlysponsors the New yam festivities "Afiolu" in Oraifite. The
decision by some group of people to take out their time to disparage
the characterof this God sent man cannot be condoned. Sir Emeka Offor
has done a lot of good deeds in Oraifite community and should not be
paid back with defamatory comments
.
"It is within the rights of every man, wealthy or not, to protect and
preserve his reputation. This is because a man is no better than his
name, perception being cognitive reality. To this end and in the
protection of every man's interest inhis good reputation, the human
society developed the law of defamation of character."

SIR EMEKA OFFOR FOUNDATION: GIVING TO THE NEEDY

"There are people in the world so hungry that God cannot appear to
them except in the form of bread" - Mahatma Gandhi

The above quote is exactly what Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF)was
established to achieve, since its creation in 2006. SEOF was founded
by no other person than Sir Emeka Offor of the Chrome Group as a way
of giving back to the society what God has blessed him with. As a
personal initiative of the founder, SEOF is solely funded by just one
man, Sir Emeka Offor.
This foundation just like any other foundation was set up to cater for
the less privileged in the society has a quiet and humble beginning in
the remote village of Oraifite, the home town of the founder. But with
effort and the financial backing from Sir Emeka Offor, it has traverse
from a mere grassroots non- governmental organization to aid the
indigent people of Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government of Anambra
state to an international one, with its presence in many countries of
Africa. And can compete with the likes of Carter foundation, etc,
considering the number of people, benefitting from it and the millions
of naira, the founder has committed to its activities, single
handedly.
The foundation's intervention programmes are anchored through the
following schemes:
*.Youth Empowerment Scheme
*.Widows Cooperative Scheme
*.Education Scholarship Scheme
*.Health Scheme
*.Infrastructure Development Scheme
These various schemes, one would notice that it covers what majority
of the indigent people has as their problems. The youth empowerment
scheme trains hundreds of young people in vocational skills, so as to
enable them to be self reliant and employers of labour. The foundation
not only paying the school fees in their various institute, but also
placed them on monthly allowance of Ten Thousand Naira( #10,000.00)
throughout the duration of their training, ranging from twelve to
twenty- four months. This succinctly provides the meaning of the adage
of teaching one how to catch fish, rather than mere giving him fish,
so that whenever he is hungry, he can fish for himself.
Looking at the performance of SEOF so far, one would not but ask for
more blessings for the man behind the mask, SIR EMEKA OFFOR. More
powers to your elbow.

Sir Emeka Offor during his speech at the convention announced an additional $1million USD donation for the final battle against Polio eradication in Africa. In a full text of his speech..."I come from a humble beginning bur today I have  ties all over the world. I have the ability to escape the poverty and deprivation that i experienced; this goal drives me each and everyday. A defining moment for me was when i received confirmation from Rotary that my initial $250,00 contribution to polio plus would be used immediately in the campaign to eradicate this terrible disease. In Nigeria many of us have lost friends to polio, but polio should hjave no place in our world anymore. Ladies and Gentlemen, therefore, today I'm giving an additional donation of $1 million USD. It is my deepest hope that my financial contribution and work with Rotary leadership in Nigeria will inspire all Nigerians to work together to bring about the final permanent and irreversible eradication of polio. Together we can make this happen and we will do so. Thank you and God bless you".

Isn't this remarkable. Sir Emeka Offor extending his generous hands beyond the shores of Nigeria to the international scene. Wow! This is just so great. Never seen anything like this before.

Sir Emeka Offor Awards Scholarship To Over 42 Students

Sir Emeka Offor, the man dubbed "Nigeria's most charitable", recently awarded scholarships to about 42 indigent students nationwide via his foundation, on the 25th of may, 2013.

The scholarship, worth a hundred and fifteen thousand naira for the undergraduate category, about one hundred and thirty thousand for the postgraduate category, and an undisclosed amount for the secondary school category, saw not less than 34 undergraduates, out of 76 applicants, smiling home with the big package after a thorough screening exercise. 6 postgraduates also emerged beneficiaries after about 8 were screened, plus 2 secondary school students, reportedly picked from the gutters by Sir Emeka Offor Scholarship team, bringing the sum to 42 beneficiaries.
