The Secret: How to Become Who You Want To Be

"The Secret", is an exclusive article written by an upcoming writter, Okemadu Cletus Jr, and published in the November, 2013 edition of the "Vintage Newspaper". It is on "Mind, Thoughts and the Law of Attraction". Enjoy!

"It is not new in life to find some people successful in all
endeavours, while others have failure as next-door neighbours. I chose
to write this piece, to smear on your mind that: "there is no limit to
what you can achieve in life and you can acquire everything you
desire". Yes, I mean "everything". By that, I do not mean the words of
Philipians 4:13- "I can achieve all things through Christ who
strengthens me", but I mean to put you through the path nature and
science lead in understanding how the likes of; Albert Eistein, Thomas
Edison, George Eastman, Walt Disney, the Wrights brothers, Michael
Faraday, Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates, Isaac Newton, Henry Ford,
Alexander Graham Bell, Theodore Rooselvet, Christopher Columbus and
many more, made their marks on the grits of time and occupied the anal
of history.

I would affirm that a glimpse into the biography of any one of the
success icons afore-mentioned would reveal that, success comes with
repeated, cosistent and persistant trials of a goal. Let's look at
Thomas Edison for instance. Edison is famous for his invention of the
electric lamp, which is of tremendous utility to man today. What we
may not know is that, the-electric-lamp success story was born out of
1000 failures. That is to say, after 1000 trials and failures, Thomas
Edison's invention came alive in his 1001th attempt. "Wow! How
resolute he was", you would remark. Then, the big question that
follows would be; "What kept him going after that much failure?" Ada
would say; "He was focused and determined" and John may add; "He was
just being hard working". Well, Ada and John may be right, but I would
be most correct to say; "His mind was 'made-up' on the invention".
Yes, that explains his success absolutely. He was focused and
determined as well as worked hard, but they are manifestions of a
"made-up mind". By a made-up mind, I mean "a mind that is rigid
with goals or mind that is pregnant with objectives". Thus,
we may deduce that; "hardwork, determination and dedication", follow
the trail of a made-up mind, which eventually leads to
goal-accomplishment known as "success".
Let me illustrate this way:-

When you make up your mind with aims or goals per say, you have set
the mind on a journey to a place, "success" (an accomplished goal).
Then, the mind takes a long road with 3 dimensions- determination,
dedication and hardwork, (each progressively leading to the other) to
reach success.
Therefore, we may infer from the illustration that:

1. The journey to success starts from the mind.
2. To reach success, we must be determined, dedicated and must work hard.
3. "THE MIND", is the secret place to success.

Having known that the mind is "origin" in the journey to success, let
me quickly answer the question: "What is the MIND?"
"The mind, is the seat of conciousness, thought, volition and
emotions". Though the definition, is similar to that of the brain, it
is necessary to say that "the mind is not the brain", as most people
presume. This is because, the mind, unlike the brain, is invisible.
But the mind may be attributed to the soul, in that both mind and soul
are spirits. In fact, "the mind is to the soul, what the brain is to
the body". "Choi!" I may get lashes for saying that, but before you
spank please read on.

In Romans 13:2- "...be transformed by the renewing of your mind...",
the bible seem to agree with me. The bible passage explains that to be
changed, the mind is to be renewed. Ofcourse, it is not the physical
man that is to be changed, but the spirit-man, "the soul". So, the
mind can  transform the soul. When the mind is being fed with
spirituals, you find that the soul edges towards God, but
reverse is the case with feeding the mind with seculars. Thus, I
may then say that, "the state of the mind, somewhat determines the
state of the soul". This explains why the mind is the soul target of
the Holy Spirit at repentance, as It flies to it, renews it and bring
about  the transformation of the soul. Therefore, since the mind triggers the
soul, as in a "switch-lamp relationship", therefore, "the mind
controls the soul". [you may now drop your whips as you are convinced.
Lols!].

Furthermore, the mind may be seen as a "processing unit". Like the
computer, the body has some of its parts linked to the mind as a
centre of process. The mind is connected to some body sense organs.
These organs, I call "INPUT CHANNELS". They are so called, because
they are the route through which the mind is fed with goals. These
channels include the eye and ear. What you see or hear, are processed
in the mind, by the "thought process". It is the thought process in
the mind that makes it up, since it determines emotions as well as set
goals for accomplishment. The set-goals of the mind are accomplished
via the "OUTPUT CHANNELS". These channels, bring about actualisation
of goals, induced by the input channels, after the thought proccess.
I.e, they bring about success. Hence, they may be called "SUCCESS
UNITS". The output/success units, through determination, dedication
and hardwork, convert aims or goals to success. These units include:
the mouth (accomplish goals as words) and the muscles (accomplish goals
in form of actions). So, what you see and hear, plays in your mind as
"thoughts"  and affect your soul as elucidated earlier.

Since we know now, a little about the mind, you would want to ask,
"What then is THE SECRET?". THE SECRET, is the reason few people are
successful in all works and others never smelt success. THE SECRET, is
the "LAW OF ATTRACTION". Not many are familiar with this natural
principle of attraction, but from today, you will not only know the
law, you will be counted among success icons if you apply it.
The law of attraction states that:-
"by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one would bring about
positive or negative results". In simple terms, it states that "like
attracts like". The law of attraction explains the power of the mind
in affecting life's experience. It brings to light that one's mind
content, by the thought process, may be transformed into a life
experience. It tells that whatever thought dominates the mind comes
alive in reality as an experience. In short, it says "whatever you are
always thinking of, would come to you in life".

Philosophers, have proved that the law is true and try to explain how
the mind is able to attract materials in the universe just by thought
conception. According to philosophy, the mind is "a packet of energy
or wave". The mind, when processing impulses from the input channels,
by thoughts, emits waves in the universe (i.e waves are being emitted
by the mind when you are thinking of what you have seen or heard). The
wave emitted by the mind have very high frequency due to continous
thought. The released wave from the mind, then cause materials in the
universe to vibrate. But only those materials with natural frequency
as that of the emitted waves are forced to vibrate (i.e resonance in
Physics). As the universal materials (e.g money, cars, education,
poverty etc) resonates with the "thought wave" (i.e wave emitted from
the mind by thinking), they are drawn or attracted to the individual
from whose mind were emitted the waves, which is a result of filling
the mind with thoughts of those materials. So that, the individual
gets what he had always thought of. Therefore, one who always think of
cars, would acquire numerous brands. One whose mind is dominated with
thoughts of money, would be extremely wealthy. Even one with thoughts
of poverty, would remain poor. This is "THE SECRET"

So my friends, whatever your desire in life, remember "JUST KEEP
THINKING", and you would see "desire run into reality".
See you next time. Peace! "
