The African Film Festival and Academy, recently awarded Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano state as the Best Governor of the year, following his contribution to youth empowerment and education in Kano.
Kwankwaso and Gov. Aliyu Wamako of Sokoto State, who also bagged the Best Governor award for project developments in his state, received the award on Saturday in London.
Kwankwaso, who could not conceal his excitement said in an interview that the state govt. are doing all they could to support the growth of the film industry. He also stated that they are currently working on the establishment of a film institute in Tiga, Kano state.
Also awarded were: Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, Dr. Dalhatu Tafida, Nigeria High Commisioner to the UK and Mrs. Farida Wada, a philanthropist.
