ASUU: Strike Continues as Members Mourn Iyayi

The Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU), have urged students to bear with them as they postponed the National Exucutive Council (NEC) meeting of the body which would have reviewed the strike, over the death of its one-time National president, Prof. Festus iyayi.

Prof. Iyayi of the University of benin (UNIBEN), died on Tuesday in an auto accident involving the convoy of Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, on the Lokoja-Abuja highway. Prof. Iyayi in company of other ASUU officials, were travelling to Kano en route Abuja, when the accident occured. He died on the spot.

Following the recent developement, a student who prefers anonymity has this to say;  "we are not happy with the situation because we have overstayed at home. I'm really not happy, but since its a case of death, they were right to have suspended the meeting. They should just try to fix a new date for the meeting."
